Lianlian graduated with her PhD of Health Services Research and Policy from the University of Rochester in May 2020 and joined Dr. Maust's team shortly thereafter. As a postdoctoral research fellow, Lianlian's research of interest focuses on aging, long-term care, and dementia care. Outside of work, Lianlian enjoys hiking, tennis, skiing, badminton, and hot-pot.

Julie serves as a data analyst/statistician on the Maust team. She received her M.S. in Biostatistics in 2014. Her interests include study design and analysis using observational data as well as data management. In her off time, she enjoys baking, word games, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Molly Turnwald, BA

Molly has worked in the Geriatric Psychiatry Department for nearly ten years and enjoys being on a team that protects and improves the lives of the older adults. Before joining the department, she provided private care for individuals with dementia and has had a passion for this population ever since. She enjoys meeting and interacting with research participants, establishing relationships with coworkers and collaborators, and spreading the word on the important work that Dr. Maust and the gero psych faculty are conducting. Outside of work, Molly is a “grand-millennial”; she loves thrifting and furnishing her home with pieces that just might remind you of your own Grandma. She and her husband have 3 children who sometimes make Zoom appearances and make life so much fun!

Charity Hoffman, Ph.D., MSW

Charity holds a Master of Social Work (’12) and a PhD in Social Work & Sociology (’18) from the University of Michigan. She brings expertise in qualitative research methods--including interviews and focus groups--as well as scholarship at the intersection of health and social sciences. When not working, Charity enjoys gardening, baking, traveling and quilting on an old sewing machine she picked up at a thrift shop in rural Tennessee. She lives in Ypsilanti with her husband and toddler.

Erika graduated with her Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan in December 2020 and joined Dr. Maust’s team shortly thereafter. As the team's clinical subjects coordinator, she maintains oversight of project goals for a number of federally funded grants and assists in qualitative research activities. Outside of work, Erika has a number of creative outlets and enjoys engaging with the robust music and arts scene here in Southeast Michigan. She lives in Ann Arbor with her fiancé, dog (Nandor the Relentless), and cat (Martin).
